Course Aim
The 16-hour RAM Introduction Course is all about the organizational management, leadership and philosophy that is always the first step on the journey towards reliability maturity.
Attendees who design, manufacture or otherwise work for a ‘producer organization’ will learn how to create a ‘reliability mindset’ to prevent problems before they occur. Most people think that reliability engineering only deals with ‘failures’ that occur in the hands of our users or customers. But reliability engineering is all about preventing problems. A problem identified by our customers or users is a failure. A problem we identify in our final production run before launch is an expensive and time-consuming crisis. A problem that we never allow to happen is the aim of the ‘reliability mindset.’
The reliability mindset requires everyone to know how reliability is linked to VALUE. Otherwise reliability is always positioned as an activity that competes with value. It has been shown that in some cases, organizations with reliability mindsets can reduce development and production costs by up to 75 % while reducing associated costs by 50 %. All before the product, system, service, device, machine or process is launched.
The RAM Introduction Course teaches attendees how to position their project or program to utilize the considerable talent of the people working for them to optimize reliability in a way that continually generates value.
The RAM Introduction Course combines with the RAM Practitioners Course as part of our 40 hour ‘RAM Course.’
